It seems that more and more celebrities are openly discussing Surrogate mothers as an option. As women who have fertility issues or other health issues that question whether or not it’s safe to have a child. Recently Kim Kardashian shared her surrogate experience on live TV. Allowing others like Gabrielle union to openly discuss and share her personal experience on a social platform.

We are in a time where things are changing. Families of  the same sex, like Jeff Lewis of Bravo Tv’s flipping out, also shared is experience on television.

In general Women are becoming more independent starting their own careers and getting married later in life. This type of lifestyle has only lead to more and more women having babies at a later age. Take for example women like Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey who have had babies later in life. If finding a Surrogate mother is the better way, rather than risking your health, so be it. It’s the safest way to extend your family without risking your life.

Medical conditions can be the cause for many moms to use a surrogate. While they don’t directly affect a woman’s physical ability to bear children, can have an impact upon her ability to carry a healthy child to term. Conditions such as heart disease, kidney disease, or severe diabetes can turn a pregnancy into a life-threatening event for mother and child alike.  In addition a woman might have an inherent condition or uterine defect that makes conception of a child difficult.

As you can see the results of using a surrogate mother have been successful and done for the right reasons. In most cases, women want to bear their own child but can’t carry due to unforeseen medical conditions. If you are experiencing any of these issues due to your age, sexual orientation, lifestyle or medical condition, maybe a surrogate mother is something to consider.
