If you’re worried about the common told tale that your body won’t burn off anything you eat right before bed, worry no more. Yes, your metabolic rate slows down when it times for bed but it doesn’t automatically just stop working. Realistically you want to eat your heavier meals around your most active time of the day, and for some people their most active time might be later in the evening. What about snacking? Here are a list of some healthy snacks:

1.Fruits: pineapples, pears, apples, oranges, strawberries

4.Tuna/chicken salad

5.String Cheese

6.Avocado with a boiled Egg

Health expert Despina Hyde says if you absolutely have to eat late at night then consider taking in 40% veggies, 40% carbs, and 20% protein. Another suggestion for working out that late night snacking is making sure you don’t go immediately to sleep. Spend some time sitting up, catch your favorite late night show, wash some left over dishes, or even read a book. This will reduce your risk of indigestion and acid reflux. Whether you can fight it or not, just remember to choose healthy snacks over the tasty donuts or chocolate chip cookies.
