Fast food at home

Busy ass week. That’s all I gotta say about that. How about you? I don’t know where you were, but I know I wasn’t in the kitchen much. Just keeping it 100! Between life and, well, that’s it. Life threw me 3 curves this week and I only had one bat. I definitely had to do some cray matrix moves to dodge all that came my way. Seriously though, the snow and the aftermath affected everything. I had to do errands: dig out the car, had to throw out the garbage, dig out the cans. No joke, this week left me stranded and in no mood to head out. I needed to go shopping, but who the heck wants to dig out again lol. I had to improvise. Yeah I had items to cook and eat, thank goodness, but I was lost with my in between snacks. So I had to put together something last second. I’m taking about making fast food at home.

What do you think you would have thrown together?

Try this little last minute heart healthy dish: sesame seeded Ezekiel bread smothered with avocado, sliced tomatoes, and a few kiwis. All this was already in the refrigerator so it didn’t hurt my pocketbook. Woop!

This will keep you full before your next big meal. Guaranteed.

I’ve learned a lot this week and glad I was able to make things happen.

Here’s why instances like the aforementioned are valuable.

1) Brings your skills to another level, especially when you are trying to eat the right foods.

2) A lot of us have excess food in the house.  Admit it, how many times do you go food shopping and come home to find you had plenty of what you just bought? Ha! (My hands up) “Meee!”

Final thoughts: Be easy on yourself. Cook and prepare foods you like. Gradually introduce new diets so you won’t feel overwhelmed.

Bam, Boom, and Voilá!  Another meal done right!
