Michelle Obama shows us her personal side in this new book, becoming Michelle Obama. She reveals things no other First Lady has revealed before and it is truly admirable. Holding a secret and personal information is a challenge but could you imagine being the woman behind the man who runs the country in those shoes.

One of the things she reveals in her book is how she has had a miscarriage and also had her kids through invitro fertilization. Miscarriages and infertility are often ignored subjects but truly need to be recognized.

In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process of fertilisation where an egg is combined with sperm outside the body, in vitro (“in glass”). The process involves monitoring and stimulating a woman’s ovulatory process, removing an ovum or ova (egg or eggs) from the woman’s ovaries and letting sperm fertilise them in a liquid in a laboratory. The process helps women with the intention of establishing a successful pregnancy.

  1. Most women who consider ivf as an option have had trouble with conceiving. One being Male factor infertility including decreased sperm count or sperm motility. Women with ovulation disorders, premature ovarian failure, uterine fibroids. Women who have had their fallopian tubes removed. Individuals with a genetic disorder. But how do you know ivf is right for you?
  2. Here are the patients who get the best results from ivf:
  3. 1.Many women with blocked or removed fallopian tubes have success with IVF since it bypasses the fallopian tubes altogether.
  4. 2.Women who have an infertility disorder, like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) or endometriosis are also good candidates for IVF.
  5. 3.Women with irregular ovulation cycles may benefit from IVF, as the treatment induces ovulation to produce healthy eggs.
  6. 4.Men who have low sperm count may turn to an intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) which only required 1 healthy sperm to fertilize an egg.
  7. Before you talk with your doctor about the risk factors and benefits, you may want to be 100 percentage sure that these are the steps you and your partner consider taking to have a successful pregnancy.
