Whip up your own Sunscreen like Jwoww
Just because the summer season is coming to an end doesn’t mean we have to ditch the sunscreen!
Sunscreen is super important and play a huge part in preventing many skin conditions including skin cancer. However, purchasing sunscreen can be a daunting task… You may ask yourself questions like “Is this good for my skin?”, “How much SPF should it have in it?”, “Is it Natural?”. According to JWoww from MTV’s The Jersey Shore, you can have fun in the sun and protect your skin naturally with her DIY sunscreen.
Earlier this summer, the former reality star shared a photo with her infant son in a pool which caused her followers to go into a frenzy. However, they didn’t know that he was lathered in natural sunscreen whipped up by JWoww herself.
In the post she addresses her haters saying, “First off, my son is two months and in a salt water pool up to his belly… Probably for a total of 3 minutes.” She then goes on to say “Let me explain to the haters that decided to comment about no sunscreen and the dangers bla bla bla My son actually does have sunscreen on. It’s the same concept as diaper cream. Probably even better than the c*** s*** you lather your children in… So, here is what I mixed for my son…Coconut Oil- SPF 4-6 Zinc Oxide SPF 2-20 depending on how much used Carrot Seed Oil – SPF 35-40.”
By now we’ve all been exposed to the coconut oil hype and how amazing it is! According to ChiroHealth, Coconut Oil has an SPF of 4, which blocks 75% off UV radiation. Carrot seed oil packs a punch doubling as an antiseptic and containing a high SPF factor. Zinc oxide also has many benefits! It protects against UVB, short UVA and long UVA rays, it creates a shield on the skin that reflects UV rays. And most importantly it is very gentle on the skin!
Sunscreen is crucial for the summer time but should be used all year around. So get in the kitchen and mix up some sunscreen!
