Drugs and alcohol are not the solutions
Wrestling legend Joanie “Chyna” Laurer was found dead at her California home Last Wednesday, April 20th, 2016. Officials are investigating the 90’s wrestler’s death as a possible overdose after receiving a call from a friend who went to check on Laurer and found her unresponsive. According to CNN, Police in Redondo Beach, California, are still investigating, but say there was no signs of foul play.
Anthony Anzaldo, who discovered Laurer in her apartment, states she was battling past life issues at the time of her death. He says ” [Chyna] had been a little emotionally strained… As she confronted demons from her past for a new documentary.” Anzaldo also states Laurer was using both sleep and anxiety medication, a fatal combination when taken together.
This is a common struggle with celebrities, new and old, constantly in the public eye. Drugs and alcohol can hinder a celebrity who may rely on these vices; resulting in an addiction or in some cases, death. Addictions do not discriminate, it can effect anyone. However, add some fame, wealth, and the scrutiny of the public and it can become a toxic combination. Most celebrities find relief in drugs and alcohol but some allow it to spiral out of control.
Drugs and alcohol are not the solutions for dealing with the stress of stardom. A great alternative to dealing with stress is getting a spa with places like spa wellness. Visiting a spa has many benefits:
– It helps slow down and allows the body to regenerate.
– Stimulates the lymphatic system to rid the body of toxin.
– Releases Serotonin and enhancing the “feel good” factors.
– Body wraps to re-mineralize the body, re-charge the body with nutrients and elements, boosting moisture in the skin, helping to rejuvenate and relax the body and mind.
Rather than depending on drugs or alcohol, a simple spa visit can rid of any stress one may have. Hopefully more people will turn to healthier alternatives rather than relying on harmful vices like drugs and alcohol.
