How You spend Money; not getting caught in the Cycle

As much as you like talking about money I know you absolutely love spending it even more… here is the overall premise of money. Money is not the root of all evil… It’s a means to an end and nothing more. The use of money is what can be evil. With that being said, go spend to your hearts delight!!!!

Ok… so totally kidding about the “spend to your hearts delight ” but spending money is something that comes with an invisible responsibility disclaimer. It’s invisible because you haven’t seen or read it yet but it reads:

Manage your money wisely. Don’t overspend but over save. Don’t make less but always strive to make more. Don’t covet it but don’t let it go to waste either, and most importantly don’t use it unnecessarily.

This disclaimer should be printed on every bill with a link so that you can gain access to a coach to assist you with managing your money. Will that ever happen? Probably not, but there is hope.

The disclaimer would be great though because here is how you currently may use money.

You get a new job or a promotion that pays more, AWESOME! It gives you a little wiggle room every month. You have more money now so you decide to go out one extra night a week with your friends. Then you decide that things have to change, your car needs to be better, so you get a new BMW. Next, you home needs to be bigger because it’s just not enough so you buy a bigger apartment or house. Then you get a dog, the best friend you always wanted. Next is the vacation that you always wanted to take, then the trips you haven’t been on as yet, then the additional credit card that you get because now you can afford to have a second one and on top of that the new rock climbing gear and canoe, sport bike, and watch you always wanted. You get the dinners with the date you finally built up the courage to ask out, because now you have the money to spend on him/her.

You see where you are going with this?… After everything is said and bought 6 months later you are strapped again because the new credit card bill is due and the new higher car payment and the new higher house payment are due and the raise you got…well… it doesn’t exist anymore because you advanced and bought your way up to your new salary.

You have to break this cycle and the first step is to admit that you need to learn about MONEY and How Money Works.
