Saving for candy and costumes

Trick or Treat Your self

Every Halloween we put our worst faces on. For entertainment of course… lol!

As this Halloween comes and goes as parents we can always use new ways to save for candy and costume and fun for the kids.

Saving for candy and costumes can cost a penny but saving a dollar or two here and there the cost of Halloween fun can be less costly. And here is how.

On average elementary school lunch costs about $2.00 per day per child and equals $40 per month which equals about $400 dollars by the time Halloween comes around.  If you have more than one child this cost could add up to quite a bit every year. But, by packing a lunch for the kids you can cut this cost tremendously.

Saving for Halloween fun also means cutting the pre-packaged snakes and lunches which may save you more than school lunches cost.

Also as you are packing lunches for the kids invest in practical lunch carriers and storage so that you are not over spending on ziplock bags, carry bags and such. This is also a big cost saving area when it comes to saving for the kids.

Remember when mom and dad used to tell you waste not want not? Well its true. Food thrown away is money thrown away also especially when you throw away food that you do not use, that spoils or just because you don’t want it. If you are buying large quantities of food buy with the intention of freezing or buy lesser quantities of food so that you can cut costs. Fruits and vegetable that usually spoil quickly should be eaten first and packed for lunch so they are eaten quickly enough not to spoil.

All these tips will make for a really great Halloween budget and more fun for the and maybe even some extra money to put away for college funds. So have fun be safe and enjoy this very scary holiday. Muu HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! (In the scariest laugh possible)
