Finding the right kicks for a good workout
Most of us don’t realize this but it is crucial to have the best sneakers to exercise in, otherwise you’ll be doing future damage to your joints. Running or walking in old tennis shoes could really take a toll on your knees and cause future problems. Wearing the appropriate shoes that fit and are comfortable enough to run a marathon in and are going to determine what your joints feel like as you age. Here are a few ways to find the right sneakers:
1. Measure your foot frequently as sizes vary for different brands.
2. Shop at the end of the day when your foot has already swelled as much as it would when you run.
3. Bring the socks you will wear when your exercising to try on with your new sneakers.
4. Use the rule of thumb between your toe and the end of the sneaker.
5. Know when to replace those shoes. The average sneaker should be replaced after 350-400 miles.
