Let’s get Sluttified
Slutty Vegan
The Slutty Vegan is here to stay and to top it all off they are expanding. Owner Pinky Cole who rolled out this vegan food truck several months ago truly found the most innovated way to make our community search for healthier alternatives when it comes to food. People have been lining up for months to see what the taste is about. The taste of a vegan burger thats created an overall experience. The burger called impossible burger is 240 calories total. Compared to a McDonalds or any other fast food burger it is pretty low. Owner Pinky says that although its not the healthiest alternative hence the name Slutty, it is a step in the right direction for those who are still eating meat instead of vegan products.
The purpose of the restaurant now opened is to expand the menu, the crowd, and the healthy message. She plans to open up several more locations around the country. Recently featured in Essence magazine, Rolling out, CBS TV and the list goes on she has really started turning the wheels for other entrepreneurs in the community. Behind the scenes Pinky Cole shares that she will be attending the Grammys on February 10th 2019 and plans to wear a dress that represents the vegan lifestyle. For those of you who remember Lady Gaga’s statement meat dress she wore years ago, she is definitely thinking along those same lines. Pinky recently attended the Trumpet Awards where she saw hundreds of celebrities. She says she is still in awwwweee from the response she received by celebrities who recognized her work. Amongst the celebrities who have already stopped by to try the burger “phenomenon” their are plenty more that she plans to impress. Pinky once in the Television business shares in this video interview what she learned from working as a producer for the OWN TV show “Iyanla Fixed my Life”. She believes everything works out for a reason and states that she had to take the steps she took in order to get where she is today. She previously owned a smoothie bar and several other food trucks in New York city where she learned to keep the flavor and hustle. She plans to expand her stores into Decatur and several other surrounding markets. Pinky went to school for journalism and shares that her ultimate goal is to be on a media outlet to share her recipes and soulful experiences as a black female entrepreneur. Hopefully with this upcoming TV project that has her lips sealed, she will be able to do just that. Although she continues to strive for bigger goals and dream big, she is very focused on the task at hand. She states, she is making it up as she goes everyday. Her menus will be expanding to shrimp dishes made of soy product, along with hot dogs, broths, and more. She says she feels as though she has created a trust between her customers to begin allowing them to tap into different vegan dishes at the Slutty Vegan.
As we were standing there waiting on Pinky Cole to get off the a conference call for a big news deal, her customers wait in line and talk about their experiences. One woman explained that she was bringing home the burger to her husband and didn’t plan to tell him it was a vegan burger. He refuses to go vegan or even try the veggie patty however she is convinced that it taste so much like meat that he won’t even know the difference and be hooked just like her. Others sworm in groups and joke about being slutified, since its the new “it” thing. There were even some local athletes in line who have been vegans for years and come here for a bite after a long practice. As the crowds rolled out of the Slutty Vegan, they encouraged those standing in line and reassure them that it is all worth the wait. Pinky Cole doesn’t fall short with her staff as they appeared to be all extremely satisfied to be apart of the experience. One employee explains how most of them who work their are vegans and know each other from years ago, yet didn’t realize they would all be working together. Exciting and super friendly the employees still understand the high demand and diligently get the job done to make sure the service is seamless and the customers have exactly what they’ve come for. As other residents of local and surrounding states like Florida, the Carolinas and Tennessee continue to make their way down to visit the Slutty Vegan, you should do the same.
