Embrace your winnings like Lebron James
There’s nothing wrong with tooting your own horn every now and then. It’s a good reminder that you have accomplished a goal that you have set out for yourself. And if no one else is going to clap for you then at least you will. Cleveland Cavalier and NBA champ, Lebron James had no problem giving himself the props that he deserves for winning this years championship. He made a promise to his team and city that he would bring a championship home and that’s exactly what he did. He led his team to victory. Some people may take tooting your horn as being arrogant or conceded, but others see it as celebrating yourself.
Lebron James and his teammates celebrated by having a big hometown celebration in Cleveland. When it came time for James to give his speech, he shocked the crowd with some surprising verbiage. He let out a whole bunch of “f” bombs amongst other curse words that we just are not use to hearing him say. This, however didn’t bother the crowd, in fact they let their humor take over and laughed along with James as he continued his humbling speech.
You see, when you work as hard as he did at a goal you set out for yourself, the outcome of the reward is always an amazing feeling. One that you can’t understand until you experience it. Even though there were plenty of media outlets recording him and expected him to serve a certain type of demeanor, James didn’t feel the need to do so. It seems that he felt it was cool to be himself and express his true feelings to his fans.
When you give people the real you, they tend to show you more respect. So when it comes to celebrating any accomplishments, don’t hold out. Go ahead and toot your own horn, let people know how proud you are of yourself. After all, if you don’t clap for yourself then who will. Make yourself happy and then people will follow. Remember a happy life is a healthy life. Seeing James celebrate his winnings is just a reality that dreams do come true, and when they do, don’t forget to embrace in your winnings like Lebron James.
